A News Letter
For The Kunjeyans By The Kunjeyans
Month : August To Oct
Year : 2005
Hi
Fraternity
Once again a very good morning
to you all. I hope all of you would be enjoying the festival moods
inspite of all the odds in terms of natural disasters.
During the course of the last
few months we have tried to personally deliver; The Life Members’
Directory-cum- Souvenir which was released on last Old Boys’ Day.
Members residing faraway were sent the Directory By Post / By
Courier.
We are quite sure that all
the Life Members would have received their copies by now. Anyone who
did not receive it please do let us know.
The countdown for the great day
has already begun and lets enjoy the hospitality of the Golden Boy
Gp. Capt. Suresh Kumar. Wearing of provided I-cards is
mandatory during the whole day on 20th November, 2005.

I happen to have a stint with
the famed remixer of the current times Lessly Louis. He has dedicated
a song to the friendship which he sang from the heart on that day and
the song was :

One great event of the school has already been published and
other is waiting in the wings.
In the month ofSeptember Gp. Capt. Suresh Kumar flagged of a 20
member team under the leadership of ace mountaineer of SSK Sh. JS
Gulia to scale Peak Deo Tibba (6001 m) in Manali region. Base camp
was established on 12th Sep at Jagatsukh village. Camp I
was established at Chandertal on 18th Sep. For Camp II
(Gungal Col) rope was fixed in the gulley. Beyond this camp Alpine
climbing technique was followed.
In the wee hours on 20th Sep team has a final
assault for the peak. The team was successful because “when the
going gets tough, the tough gets going” and so is the mighty
kunjeyan spirit. The team received back on 26th Sep
achieved the following landmarks during the scaling :
A new route was opened between CampI & II for scaling Peak
Deo Tibba.
The age group of 14-16 is the youngest ever team to scale Peak
Deo Tibba
The peak was climbed in Alpine technique which is rarely used
and most difficult one.

We all are
aware of fellow kunjeyan Jagpal who met with an accident two years
back which happened to be fatal for his eyes. We know he is brave
enough as next year he did join the Old Boys’ Day.
Nature has
been very cruel to him, he lost his father few months back and last
month we had another blow when we lost Kunjeyan Onkar Singh Sehrawat
brother of Jagpal in an air crash while he was flying his craft. We
do share his gloomy sorrows.
Kunjeyan
Surinder Singh – 1911 also lost his father.
We pray for
rest in peace for the departed souls and beg the almighty to bestow
upon us the courage and patience to bear these losses, this is what
we could only do.

Kunjeyan Brig. S.P. Mehla (95)
suffered from heart attack in the month of August. Now he is Ok.
Kunjeyan Neerja Rathi suffered
from bad health and was in hospital during Aug-September.
Kunjeyan Rajinder Rajpal (237)
was operated for heart problem in the month of September. He once
again proved himself that he is a strong pillar as he jumped back to
active life the soon after.
We wish all of them a very healthy
future.

Kunjeyans are really moving at pace
towards the peak. Our fellow tall buddy has grown further, yes we are
talking of DDS Sandhu who has donned the Rank of Lt. General. He is
the 2nd Kunjeyans to do so after the Lt. Gen. Deepak
Kapoor. Congratulations Sir, and we are sure that this would be just
another milestone.

Kunjeyan Saravjeet Batra (2137) has
been blessed by a son in the month of August.
Belatedly we have been informed that
Dr. NC Upadhya has been blessed with a grandson. And also his another
daughter Suchita was awarded with PhD. by Kurukshetra University.
Kunjeyan Harish Digani (1505) has
ventured out a new project at Paonta Sahib.
We wish the toddlers and the family a
very healthy, peaceful, bright and successful future.
